What Changed

Updated the root README setup warning so it no longer implies Codex is required for all T3 Code usage.

The README now:

  • explicitly notes that T3 Code supports both Codex and Claude
  • documents the login flow for each provider
  • keeps the setup guidance aligned with the current multi-provider implementation

Why

The README already described T3 Code as supporting both Codex and Claude, but the warning block still told users they needed Codex CLI for the app to work.

That mismatch made the setup instructions inaccurate and could mislead users into thinking Claude was not actually supported. This change corrects the docs so first-run setup is clearer and consistent with the codebase.

  • I included before/after screenshots for any UI changes
  • I included a video for animation/interaction changes

Note

Low Risk
Low risk documentation-only change; it updates setup guidance without affecting runtime behavior.

Overview
Clarifies the README setup warning to reflect multi-provider support by stating that T3 Code supports Codex and Claude and that users must install/authenticate at least one provider.

Adds explicit login instructions for each provider (Codex codex login, Claude claude auth login) and removes the implication that Codex is required for all usage.

Note

Clarify provider setup instructions for Codex and Claude in README

Updates README.md to document setup steps for both Codex and Claude providers. Replaces a Codex-only warning with step-by-step instructions: Codex via Codex CLI using codex login, and Claude via Claude Code using claude auth login.

Macroscope summarized dd8fc67.

- Note Codex and Claude support
- Document login steps for each provider

Integrates upstream changes including:

- Refactor terminal manager onto Effect runtime (pingdotgg#1525)
- Refactor web orchestration sync to incremental events and
  isolated recovery (pingdotgg#1560)
- Remove redundant add-project cancel button (pingdotgg#1302)
- README documentation updates (pingdotgg#1406, pingdotgg#1564, pingdotgg#1565)

Conflict resolution across 8 files: adopted upstream's incremental
event store architecture, terminal Effect runtime, and batched
orchestration effects while preserving fork's multi-provider state.
