WhatsApp icon in the taskbar not showing notification badges (numbers of unread messages)

• I have confirmed that this issue does not happen when ExplorerPatcher is not installed
• I do not have "register as shell extension" enabled
• I have tried my best to check existing issues

Describe the bug

Since one months I have WA taskbar icon ALWAYS without new messages badge
Trying to give some hints
-the icon AT BEST is flashing*
-with a new message arrived, toggling win 10 or win 11 Taskbar style from EP will make the icon switch from "plain" or with "1"

*stop flashing as soon as I open WA, but I expect to see "1" in the icon until I click on the chat with the new message

So it is like this:

1. Switch to windows 10 (explorerpatcher) taskbar in EP Properties application
2. Open Whatsapp application
3. Minimize Whatsapp window
4. Get message in Whatsapp application
5. Whatsapp icon on taskbar is flashing, but does not show a 1 on it that uses the badges feature
6. Switch to windows 11 taskbar in EP Properties application
7. Whatsapp icon on taskbar is flashing, and now shows a 1 on it that uses the badges feature

yes thanks or in short: using EP now WhatsApp icon in the taskbar has no more new messages badge feature. And I am using the amazing EP tool to have old Win 10 style taskbar.

Very weird is only me, I am pretty sure have changed nothing (except keep everything updated)

I believe I have the same problem. When set to windows 10, the number on the badge disappears as soon a WhatsApp window is open, even though I haven't clicked on the new message. It reappears if the window is closed. On windows 11, the number shows whether the window is open or closed, until I actually click on the new message.

my WA icon in the taskbar is always without numbers with no way to make them appears (except stop using EP or using but with Win 11 taskbar)
