stateless-time

A silent Android wallpaper that visualizes time as state — one dot per day, rendered statelessly from the calendar.

Overview

Stateless Time is a minimalist, "install-and-forget" wallpaper utility. It renders a 365-dot grid representing the current year.

  • Past days: White dots.
  • Today: A single Orange dot.
  • Future days: Subtle dark gray dots.

It updates automatically at midnight, purely based on the system date. There is no UI, no settings, and no persistent storage. Just time, visualized.

Features

  • Stateless: The wallpaper is regenerated fresh every midnight. No database, no preferences.
  • Silent: Runs via WorkManager. No foreground services, notifications, or battery drain.
  • Precise: Grid updates at 00:00 local time.
  • Clean Aesthetic: A tightly packed 15-column grid with a minimalist progress indicator.

Installation

  1. Clone the repo:
    git clone https://github.com/sreenathyadavk/stateless-time.git
  2. Open in Android Studio.
  3. Build and Run (Shift + F10).
  4. The app will:
    • Set your wallpaper immediately.
    • Schedule the daily updater.
    • Close itself.

That's it. You won't see it in your app drawer, but it's there, working in the background.
