Sorry, but this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Is it possible that your editor is simply a bit broken?

I don't edit that in the editor; I edit that directly here on GitHub.

What exactly does not make a lot of sense to you?

Maybe I was not precise enough in my description:
That screenshot shows how it's rendered now, in the documentation.

I couldn't make a screenshot of the fix, since the GitHub preview renders this differently as the final website build. It should still work, though?
