Bug description
If a panel is set to auto-hide or intelli-hide, you cannot easily open one applet menu after another, as the panel will be hidden if you click on another applet while the other menu is open.
If you close the menu before switching to another applet, everything works fine.
A video is worth a thousand words, here is a snippet of the error:
output_file.mp4
Steps to reproduce
set a panel to auto-hide or intelli-hide (in intelli mode, ensure that the panel is hidden)
click on another applet with a menu (e.g. sound@cinnamon.org) without closing the previous menu
the panel disappears
Expected behavior
The panel remains open after the applet menu has been closed in order to click on the other applet. It would also be nice if the click event is triggered on the other applet without having to click again.
Distribution
Mint 22.1 and earlier
Package version
6.4.8 and earlier
Graphics hardware in use
