What does the “Failed” status in the menu bar mean?

Hi, I noticed a “Failed” status in the menu bar, but I’m not sure what it refers to.
Could you clarify what this status means, what might cause it, and how I can find more details or resolve the issue?

Here‘s an answer from codex:

The “Failed” badge indicates that CodeBurn’s update check or update process failed. It is not related to usage-data collection.

Hovering over the badge should display the underlying error. Clicking it will retry the update check or update operation.

If it continues to fail, try updating manually:

npm install -g codeburn@latest --force
codeburn menubar --force

The label is somewhat ambiguous, so showing “Update failed” directly, or making the error details easier to discover, would improve the UI.
