Can WASM be used to save server costs?

The core thing is that I've seen for months now, that despite donations, Exercism is struggling financially.

I Think this is an amazing project.

Would alternative technical choices help to lower server costs?

Similar considerations here, are:

• pyodide or something else?
• how to feature-flag or experiment without risking stability on the platform
• avoiding issues such as fix: bump python-multipart dependency simonw/datasette-lite#81 by working out a version pinning strategy which works
• unlike PHP there are not many great FOSS ways to run multiple python versions, so pinning is really the strategy for keeping versions stable
• saving and loading user input
