@sbillinge I've been trying to solve this problem (basically just getting the srfit example nppdfsas.py to work) this morning with not much luck. It seems like the diffpy.srfit.sas module isn't working for the most part. I remember you mentioning that the sas analysis isn't up to date.

I tried some workarounds (loading the data with np.loadtxt) and it worked, but then i ran into more errors with loading the EllipsoidalModel().

TLDR if we want this to work, I think we should just try to fix the whole srfit.sas module. It would be a heavier lift but its much better than trying to fix it with workarounds. It'll have to be done eventually as well.

sas is not working because it uses sasview which is behind on its python upgrades, at least it was. No need to work on tihs for now. Let's make an issue to get sas working again in the future, but don't spend time on it now.

@sbillinge Based on the github page it looks like its being maintained. Last release was Sept 30th. But still looks like its only up to python 3.11 because dependencies: https://github.com/SasView/sasview.

I know we have our srfit-sasview fork. Is there a way we can maintain that and get that up to the latest python and just use that?

Let's meet and make a plan. Because we now have packs we can update everything but now that the sas pack will only run in 3.11
