Display a progress bar on image convert

What is the problem you're trying to solve

currently there's no progress information while converting images. however, converting images is sometimes time consuming, having a progress bar might be helpful for users to better understand it's not being blocked.

Describe the solution you'd like

I am not familiar with the technical feasibility of this, but if it is feasible, I am glad to submit a pr for this.

Hi! I’m a computer science student at the University of Texas at Austin, and my teammate @akoul-05 and I are contributing to nerdctl as part of a virtualization class assignment. We’re planning to tackle up to three issues in the repository, so you may see us asking questions on a few others as well.

This feature request about adding progress feedback during image conversion caught our attention. Before deciding whether we can take this on, we wanted to understand the technical expectations a bit more. Do you know if there’s an existing design discussion, or specific parts of the codebase that would be relevant for implementing progress reporting? And is the goal primarily to provide a simple progress bar, or more detailed status updates?

Any pointers or context would be greatly appreciated, we’d love to help where we can!
