Add functionality to view edited and un-edited series

Technician suggestion (and I agree):

It would be really helpful to be able to simultaneously view plots of the series being edited both pre-edit and post-edit without having to save and then reload the series. In this way, the effects of edits could be immediately visible.

This is still a feature request and not a bug, but I'm moving it to high priority. The technicians have reiterated the need for this functionality.
