Editor of patterns of the mysterious BOSS SL2 pedal that I like so mush. Some projets cover this topic, but I provide some tools to test the basic configuration before importation of TSL file (wait for it... an oscillator).
A free, open-source web editor for the Boss SL-2 Slicer pedal. Create, preview, and export your custom slicing patterns directly from your browser!
Try the SL-2 Pattern Creator here
- Visual Sequencer: Edit Channel 1 & 2 steps intuitively (volume, pitch, filter, length).
- Real-time Audio Preview: Hear your patterns instantly directly in the browser thanks to the Web Audio API.
- TSL Import/Export: Seamlessly load and save
.tslfiles fully compatible with Boss Tone Studio. - Global FX Control: Tweak advanced routing, Mixer, Compressor, EQ, Noise Suppressor, and modulation effects (Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo).
- Pattern Randomizer: Instantly generate new rhythmic ideas and effects combinations.
Got a killer slicing pattern or ambient swell you want to share with the world? We'd love to add it to the built-in "Community Presets" dropdown!
Here is how you can submit your own .tsl patch:
- Export your patch: Use the "EXPORT .TSL" button in the app to save your creation. Make sure it has a descriptive name!
- Upload the file: Place your new
.tslfile inside thepublic/presets/folder of this repository. - Update the index: Open the
src/presets/presets-manager.jsfile and add your preset to the list. Please follow the exact JSON format:[ { label: "FIRST_PRESET", url: process.env.PUBLIC_URL + "/presets/first_preset.tsl" }, { label: "pattern-interesting", url: process.env.PUBLIC_URL + "/presets/pattern-interesting.tsl" }, ]
- React: UI and component state management.
- Web Audio API: Custom synthesis, envelope following, and real-time DSP.
- JavaScript: TSL hex data parsing and formatting.

This project was bootstrapped with Create React App.
In the project directory, you can run:
Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in your browser.
The page will reload when you make changes.
You may also see any lint errors in the console.
Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.
See the section about running tests for more information.
Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.
The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.
Your app is ready to be deployed!
See the section about deployment for more information.
Note: this is a one-way operation. Once you eject, you can't go back!
If you aren't satisfied with the build tool and configuration choices, you can eject at any time. This command will remove the single build dependency from your project.
Instead, it will copy all the configuration files and the transitive dependencies (webpack, Babel, ESLint, etc) right into your project so you have full control over them. All of the commands except eject will still work, but they will point to the copied scripts so you can tweak them. At this point you're on your own.
You don't have to ever use eject. The curated feature set is suitable for small and middle deployments, and you shouldn't feel obligated to use this feature. However we understand that this tool wouldn't be useful if you couldn't customize it when you are ready for it.
