I'm not sure if this file is meant to list just "core devs" or not — if not, I'm requesting to be added. (And hope to contribute more in the future!)

I think the name list at AUTHORS.md is for contributors, not just core devs, so you're most definitely welcome here 😁
If you're looking for write access though, we'll need someone to second this and get you on board of all the accounts mentioned at #346 and MAINTENANCE.md.
P.S. Just had a peek at your website, and saw that you were in NZ before? I was at Fairbanks, Alaska for a little while too in 2018 (for the McCarthy Glaciology Summer School). Just found it a little coincidental 😄
I have neither the time nor the experience to be a core dev at the moment, but if that changes I'll let it be known! 😉
That's funny! Yeah I did the whole backpacker thing down in NZ for a bit after undergrad. Did some seismology-related fieldwork with Vic folks! Small world. |
@liamtoney not at all! As @weiji14 pointed out, the AUTHORS file is an attempt to give credit to anyone who has contributed. I really need to make some updates to the community documents here. Sorry for the confusion.
These "privileges" are really overrated actually. All they let you do that you can't already do is merge pull requests and make releases. You can still review pull requests from others, open them, etc. I'll be happy to add you in the (hopefully near) future 🙂
That is something to consider. These things can take up a lot of time. Personally, I've barely managed to find the time to read the notifications, let alone do any actual non-essential coding (i.e., not used for class or research students). |
