Passphrase incorrect although it works in the browser

Hello,

Using the beta version 1.2.3 (from the Play Store, Android 11) here and I still cannot finish configuring the Android client.
I constantly get the message "Incorrect pass phrase, please try again".
The passphrase is copied from a password management application; I use the same application on the browser on my PC, so it has exactly the same string value.
Any idea where this error is coming from ?

Hello @softexpert. Thank you for the feedback. We had the same feedback from one of our users(#1296). But that issue was resolved. Maybe it's a new compatibility issue. Could you share your PUBLIC key with den@flowcrypt.com? Also, could you share more info about your key: what software you used to create a key, what options you used? Maybe I'll be able to reproduce your issue.

@softexpert I've tried the following

1. I had a fresh account
2. I opened the browser version of FlowCrypt
3. Via the setup process I created a new private key with a long passphrase(113 characters)
4. I did log out and log in with my passphrase. it works well
5. I installed the Android app and opened it
6. I selected my account
7. I typed my long passphrase. it works well

For now, I can't reproduce your issue.
Please let me ask you one more question. What password management application do you use? Maybe I will be able to install it and check.

@softexpert By the way, you can check your passphrase via the browser extension

1. Open FlowCrypt
2. Click on Additional Settings
   
3. Click on Security
   
4. Click on Test my pass phrase
   
5. Type your passphrase (1) and click on Verify (2)
   
6. After that you should see the following

My passphrase is correctly verified through the browser extension - I did not had any troubles with it.

Thank you @softexpert for the additional details. I've tried to use examples of pass phrases. Unfortunately, I still can't reproduce your issue. I'm going to add more details for the error message to be able to specify the place of the error. This fix will be included in the upcoming release. I will notify you when a new version will be available.

To summarize what we've encountered with @softexpert

1. It seems we have a problem in a place where we fetch backups from IMAP
2. It seems String <-> byte array transformation it's a reason of this issue
3. Maybe it would be nice to have an option to import keys manually even we have backups on IMAP server.
