Summary

Expensify/App#94129 adds a new Receipt type filter to the Search (Spend) advanced filters, which also introduces a new receipt-type: search operator (values: ereceipt, itemized, hotel).

This PR documents that new operator in the public help article that lists the supported expense search operators, alongside the existing expense-type: operator.

Changes

  • docs/articles/new-expensify/reports-and-expenses/Use-Search-Operators-to-Filter-and-Analyze.md — added receipt-type: to the "How to filter expenses using search operators" list.

HelpDot Documentation Review

Overall Assessment
This PR adds a single new search operator entry (receipt-type:) to an existing list in Use-Search-Operators-to-Filter-and-Analyze.md, documenting the new receipt-type: operator with values ereceipt, itemized, and hotel, introduced by source PR #94129. The change is minimal, well-scoped, and slots cleanly into an already compliant article without expanding scope.

Scores Summary

  • Readability: 10/10 - The added line mirrors the exact format of surrounding operator entries. It is scannable, consistent, and requires no interpretation.
  • AI Readiness: 9/10 - Placed under the task-based heading "How to filter expenses using search operators," the entry uses the full operator name and realistic values. Article metadata (keywords / internalScope) was not updated to surface the new receipt-type term, a minor omission for a one-line addition.
  • Style Compliance: 10/10 - Uses exact UI-facing operator syntax with backtick code formatting matching all sibling entries. Correctly placed adjacent to the related expense-type: operator. No naming-convention or terminology issues.

Key Findings

  • The addition is consistent with the established list pattern (backticked operator, separator, comma-separated values).
  • Logical placement directly after expense-type:, grouping the two type-based filters together.
  • Scope is disciplined: one operator documented, no unrelated edits, matching the source PR behavior change.
  • Minor: article keywords and internalScope were not updated to include "receipt type," which could marginally improve semantic retrieval.

Recommendations

  • Optional: add "receipt type" (and possibly the values) to the article keywords metadata to strengthen AI retrieval.
  • No blocking issues. The change is ready to merge as-is.

Files Reviewed

  • docs/articles/new-expensify/reports-and-expenses/Use-Search-Operators-to-Filter-and-Analyze.md - Approved. One-line addition, fully compliant with authoring and naming conventions.
