PROPOSAL:

Tests

1. Sign in with an expensifail account on iOS
2. Create a Control workspace
3. Navigate to More Features and enable HR
4. Select Connect TriNet/Zenefits
5. Complete the authorization flow with the provider
6. Return to the app

Expected: The WebView modal closes automatically after authorization, the HR page is responsive, and the TriNet card shows a syncing spinner followed by "Last synced" timestamp.

• Verify that no errors appear in the JS console

Offline tests

1. Put the device in airplane mode
2. Navigate to the HR page
3. Tap Connect on the TriNet card
4. Verify: The offline blocking view appears inside the modal (not a frozen screen)
5. Tap the back button
6. Verify: The modal dismisses and the HR page is responsive

  • I verified proper file naming conventions were followed for any new files or renamed files. All non-platform specific files are named after what they export and are not named "index.js". All platform-specific files are named for the platform the code supports as outlined in the README.
  • I verified the JSDocs style guidelines (in STYLE.md) were followed
• If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers
• I followed the guidelines as stated in the Review Guidelines
• I tested other components that can be impacted by my changes (i.e. if the PR modifies a shared library or component like Avatar, I verified the components using Avatar are working as expected)

Auto-close the OAuth WebView modal (src/components/ConnectToHRFlow/index.native.tsx) — closes the provider authorization modal once it reaches CONNECTION_COMPLETE, fixing the frozen/unresponsive screen reported in [Due for payment 2026-06-12] TriNet - App gets stuck after connecting with TriNet #92269. Users still perform the same documented step ("Authorize Expensify to access your account"); it just no longer hangs.
2. Removes spurious sync-progress optimistic UI on approval mode / final approver updates (Gusto.ts, Zenefits.ts) and updates the corresponding page call sites.

These articles describe the connection flow, approval-mode configuration, and sync behavior — all of which still match the app after this fix.
