Other Occurrences:
On Workspace - Workflows - Edit Approval Workflow - Approver: when selecting or unselecting the approver
On Workspace - Rules - Cash Expense Default: when selecting or unselecting the option
Expected Result
The interface should not close or reload automatically upon input unless the user explicitly triggers the action. Any automatic context changes should be announced or confirmed before execution to maintain predictable navigation and avoid unexpected behavior.
Actual Result
When a user selects or removes a pronoun option, the entire layout closes automatically without warning.
This causes loss of context and forces users (especially screen reader users) to reopen the panel, interrupting workflow and creating confusion.
This helps users with disabilities by making interactive content more predictable. Unexpected changes of context can be disorienting for users with visual disabilities or cognitive limitations. Individuals who are blind or have low vision may have difficulty knowing when a visual context change has occurred, such as a new window popping up. In this case, warning users of context changes in advance minimizes confusion when the user discovers that the back button no longer behaves as expected. Some individuals with low vision, with reading and intellectual disabilities, and others who have difficulty interpreting visual cues may benefit from additional cues in order to detect changes of context.
Suggested Resolution
Prevent automatic panel closure when an option is selected or deselected.
Ensure that changes take effect only when the user confirms the selection (e.g., presses “Save”). https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/on-input.html
