Action Performed:

Precondition:

• Have two non-default workspaces and no default workspace
• Have self DM

1. Go to staging.new.expensify.com
2. Go to self DM
3. Click + > Create expense > Manual
4. Enter amount > Next
5. On confirm page, click Category field
6. On workspace selector page, select any workspace
7. On category list, click RHP back button
   → Workspace selector page does not open because default workspace has been selected - Expected
8. Create another workspace and delete the default workspace
9. Go to self DM
10. Create an expense without category
11. Open the expense thread
12. Click Category
13. On workspace selector page, select any workspace
14. On category list, click RHP back button

Expected Result:

Workspace selector page will not open (like Step 7) and RHP will dismiss

Actual Result:

Workspace selector page reopens despite having selected the default workspace

Category RHP back button reopens Workspace selector after selecting default workspace

What is the root cause of that problem?

We are calling getReportRHPActiveRoute to get backTo route when we navigate to SetDefaultWorkspace page. getReportRHPActiveRoute returns the active route only when a report that is opened in RHP.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

We should use Navigation.getActiveRoute() get the active route instead getReportRHPActiveRoute. We can make the same change here too if needed.

We can implement the new backTo approach defined in this guide if it necessary

If we dont want to be able to back to this page we should remove it from stack when navigating, we can achieve this by passing forceReplace to options
