Action Performed:

Precondition:

• Create at least 16 unreported expenses in self DM.
• One of the unreported expenses has amount in thousand (eg, 2000.00).

1. Go to staging.new.expensify.com
2. Go to workspace chat.
3. Create an empty report in workspace chat.
4. Click Add expense > Add unreported expense.
5. Click on the search field.
6. Enter 2000.

Expected Result:

The expense with the amount 2000.00 will show up in the search result.

Actual Result:

The expense with the amount 2000.00 does not show up in the search result when searched with 2000.
It only shows up when user searches with 2,000 instead.

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

When users search for expenses using numeric amounts like "2000", the search fails to find expenses with formatted amounts like "$2,000.00"

What is the root cause of that problem?

tokenizedSearch function uses textToken.includes(searchToken) which means "2000" won't match "$2,000.00" or "2.000" because the formatted string contains a comma that the search term doesn't have.

We need to add normalized amount (without formatting) to the searchable fields alongside the formatted amount
