Action Performed:

1. Launch Expensify app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Long tap on Domains.
4. Tap outside "Copy URL to clipboard" modal.

Expected Result:

The URL under "Copy URL to clipboard" text will not disappear when the modal is dismissing.

Actual Result:

The URL under "Copy URL to clipboard" text disappears when the modal is dismissing.

@NicMendonca FYI I haven't added the External label as I wasn't 100% sure about this issue. Please take a look and add the label if you agree it's a bug and can be handled by external contributors.

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

The URL under "Copy URL to clipboard" text disappears when the modal is dismissing.

What is the root cause of that problem?

This comes from #56606, more precisely it's a hidden bug that appears after the offending PR.

when hiding context menu, we set selectionRef.current to be empty string

App/src/pages/home/report/ContextMenu/PopoverReportActionContextMenu.tsx

Line 268 in a660ce8

selectionRef.current = '';

So the text disappears.

Before the offending PR the modal closes immediately so we can't see the behaviour.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

We should reset selectionRef.current in onModalHide instead.
