Browser crashes after opening protected PDF screen

What is the root cause of that problem?

The crash was caused by canvas-size library and the problem is related to rendering large canvas elements
jhildenbiddle/canvas-size#13

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

The topic I found completely describes our problem
And took the advice and tested the site
I came to the conclusion that this fix will suit us too

We need to update this function
