Feature requests for LogBuilderDialog

• should have the ability to use Images from clipboard.
• the create logEntry and the reply command should be mutually exclusive.

• The create log dialog is set as a top level shell, this way you can minimize the cs-studio window and take a screenshot of the rest of the screen.

Of course I would like to test it...
To paste a screen capture in a logbook entry, I would need to:

• copy full screenshot [Print Screen key],
• or copy window screenshot [Alt + Print Screen keys],
• and then just paste the clipboard [Ctrl + V keys] in the entry.

So this way, we can minimize cs-studio windows, select any windows, copy the selected windows screenshot and then go back to the entry to paste the clipboard.

Is it what you have in mind?

Yes, the goal is to make it easier for the users to take screenshots of the screen/s they want.
The workflow would be very similar to the one you have described except currently I don't have any key binding, so there is a button in the logEntry dialog "paste from clipboard" which has to be used instead of [ctrl + v].

Now the context menu for log entries with pv's (as defined using the pvregex) show the process variable submenu.

Also:
Creating a new Object in csdata called TimestampedPV.
It extends the ProcessVarible but adds a timestamp (currently a long but will be replaced with a Instant once we move to java8). LogEntryAdapater not only adapts to ProcessVariable's but also TimestampedPV. Using the TimestampedPV the databrowser will open to the time period corresponding to the create time of the LogEntry instead of the default - last hour.
