My Achievements are not working
The mod we use to enable Achievements while playing the modded version of the game is called Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE). This mod can sometimes stop working for some users. Below is a guide to fix this issue.
1) Uninstall SFSE (Removed archive as well with Vortex)
2) Uninstall Baka AE (Removed archive as well with Vortex)
3) Install Baka AE
4) Install SFSE
5) Make sure Steam is always open before you launch the game from Vortex
How do i change the menu Backgrounds
On the first installation, you will be able to choose your background from the installer if you would like to change this at any time follow the steps below.
1) Open Vortex and locate the Menu Backgrounds-v2 mod.
2) Right-click the Mod and select Reinstall
3) Now you will be able to choose another background.
My Controller doesnt work
1) Open Steam.
2) Locate "Starfield" and select "Properties".
3) Select "Controller Settings" and disable Steam Input.
How do i open the Ship Landing Ramp
We use a mod for opening and closing the landing ramps on ships, this adds an immersive touch to landing your ship.
You can open the landing ramp in two ways.
1) Control Panel - An interactive control panel will appear inside your ship's landing bay. Activating it will automatically open or close your ship's ramp. Control panel locations inside each bay vary by landing bay model.
2) Landing Ramp Remote - The remote control item will be automatically deposited into your ship's cargo hold after the first time a ramp control panel as appeared inside your landing bay. The remote control is a weapon item that automatically opens and closes your ship's ramp(s) as necessary when equipped. It automatically unequips itself immediately after performing its function for easy reuse. It is classified as weapon type "other," which means it will not interfere with any guns, cutters, melee weapons, etc. you may also have equipped. The remote control can be used at any distance from your ship, as long as your ship is currently loaded. If you lose your landing ramp remote or would like to acquire another, they're also available for purchase from Henrik Zuran at Apex Electronics in the Well. If you'd like to use a console command to acquire the remote, type into your console: 'player.additem FE---82C'

I am unable to open doors and hatches or have any of the bugs below
- Stuck in the cockpit chair?
- NPCs' eyes black?
- NPCs or your character T Posing?
- Blood spatters texture issues?
This is because you didn't select the right settings from the installation guide. See the picture below.
Hardlink Deployment Requires the game to be on the same drive as the Mods this is IMPORTANT
How do i change the Mod Staging folder in Vortex
To enable Hardlink Deployment in Vortex the Mod Staging folder must be on the same drive as the game.
If you can't select Hardlink Deployment then this is why, you can follow the guide below to change the location of the Staging Folder.
1) Open Vortex and select "settings"
2) On the "Mods" tab you can select the folder icon.
3) Here you can change the location of the Staging Folder and make sure it is on the same drive as the game.
Game Not Launching SFSE Not Found
Anti Virus is giving some people a hard time when downloading the collection. Make exceptions in your antivirus. For the following folders.
C:\Users\USERNAME\Appdata\Roaming\Vortex
DRIVE:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Starfield
How do i update the Collection
1) Create a new Profile in Vortex and enable it.
2) Go to the Collection page and ensure the most current revision number is displayed, then select select "ADD TO VORTEX"
3) When prompted to select which profile to install to, select the new profile you created in Step 1
4) Once the update is downloaded you can remove the old profile. But ⛔DO NOT remove the archives.
NOTE Don't worry you will NOT have to redownload the entire collection with this method.
⛔DO NOT update any of the mods in this collection individually in Vortex when a mod gets updated we will update the collection.
Notes will be in the changelog.
The Tools in Vortex are missing
If you don't see the Tools in Vortex this could be one of 2 issues.
1) The most common issue is Vortex being confused, so you can try to Purge and Deploy the Mods in Vortex a few times if this still doesn't show the Tools close and reopen Vortex.
2) Sometimes you need to relink Vortex to a tool. or sometimes the toolbar isn't enabled.

Go to the "dashboard" tab in Vortex.

Scroll down until you see "tools".
Make sure it's enabled. If it is but the tools still arnt showing do the following

Click the 3 dots next to the tool you need to relink ie Reshade. and select "edit"

Now select "target" and browse to where you have the tool installed this will be in the main Starfield directory.
Where are the optional mods
1) Open Vortex
2) Select "Collections"
3) Select "View" on the collection.
4) Select "Mods"
5) Now you can filter between "Required" and "Recommended" Recommended being the optional Mods.
Vortex is giving me a Pop-Up error
Vortex can sometimes give errors. These can most of the time be fixed with the following methods.
- Restarting Vortex.
- Restarting your PC
- Logging out of Vortex and Nexus and signing back in.
Vortex is giving me a pop up that says error 403 ect
Vortex and Nexus can throw errors sometimes to fix this.
- Log out of Vortex
- Log out of Nexus
And then log back in
In Vortex it says 'Incompatible mods enabled'
This is because you have enabled 2 conflicting Texture Mods.
All you have to do is disable the variant of the texture you don't want either 2k or 4k.
My StarfieldCustom.ini is Blank
In the past, Bethesda titles would require some edits to the StarfieldCustom.ini file located in the Documents folder. This isn't the case with the Constellation Collections, We have been lucky enough to automate the loading of all plugins and text-based mods with the help of a few Plugins and our own Constellation Collection Loader (CCL)
We use a few tools to load our Mods this is a rather complex process:
- Constellation Collection Loader (CCL)
- Console Command Runner
- Vortex Plugins Loader
- Starfield Script Extender (SFSE)
- Plugins Text Enabler
- Kill Loader
- Loose Root Data
Plugins will be loaded automatically by (SFSE) at runtime when launching via (SFSE)
ESM Mods will be loaded automatically using the following Tools.
- Plugins Text Enabler
- Vortex Plugins Loader
Loose file Mods will be loaded From the main game directory using the following tools.
- Kill Loader
- Loose Root Data
Text-based (BAT) Mods will be loaded automatically once entering the main menu using the following tools.
- Kill Loader
- Loose Root Data
- Constellation Collection Loader (CCL)
- Console Command Runner
As you can see this is a complex process that we use in order for us to automatically load all of the mods in the collection. If you are unsure if a Mod has loaded correctly you can use the following HotKeys to check the console history.
- ~ Console
- F1 Custom Better Console.

The 4k Collection can be added to our main Collection.
1) Click "Add to Vortex"(choose your main profile you use).
How to i add the 1k Graphics Collection

1) Click "ADD TO VORTEX"(choose your main profile you use).
2) After installation, the AIO texture pack will be enabled. If you don't see enough of a Performance boost then you can enable 1 or more of the optional Packs. These will reduce the Texture Resolution even more for less VRAM usage and better Performance.

This can happen with some mods don't worry it will be a false positive select keep file and then perform actions in windows defender. Nexus mods scans and tests every mod that is uploaded to the site. You have nothing to be worried about
