Open, accountable ranking for the open social web.

We build open-source platform and discovery infrastructure:

  • Fediway, a Mastodon plugin that replaces the chronological home timeline with a ranked feed, blending posts from your network with discovery from external content providers.
  • Fediway for web, iOS, and Android, a Mastodon-compatible client that works with any instance.
  • CommonFeed, the open protocol the plugin speaks to those providers. It serves ranked feeds natively across ActivityPub, AT Protocol, and Nostr, and any team can implement it.
  • Fediway Feeds, the AGPLv3 reference provider, so anyone can run, audit, fork, or replace the one we ship.

Today, the ranking systems that shape public discourse are operated by a small number of companies, under values their users never see. We do not think any one company should decide how feeds are ranked for the open social web. We do not think Fediway should either. What we build is scaffolding, so that universities, cooperatives, NGOs, and independent developers can serve their own ranked feeds or build their own discovery providers on top.
