GitHub Education Application Billing information Full Name not the same?

Hi everyone,

I don’t understand any of this anymore. I uploaded the same statement as last year saying that I am a teacher. On this document is my name. Now my application keeps getting rejected because my full name supposedly does not match the “GitHub billing information” and the document I send, even though it literally says “First name Last name” on the document and my profile. Exactly the same. What else can I even do?

Check both profile AND billing name fields - The system checks your GitHub profile name (not just billing information) against your document. Make sure both locations have your exact full name matching your teacher document, including:​

All capital letters, accents, and punctuation exactly as shown​

No hidden spaces before or after names​

Middle names or initials if they appear on your document

If Nothing Works
Unfortunately, GitHub Support will not create support tickets for Education verification issues anymore. Your only option may be to post in the GitHub Community Discussions (Education category) and tag @samus-aran, who has helped resolve similar cases.

Hi @gzeel,

Make sure to fill in your billing info and GitHub profile with your full name exactly as it appears on your academic transcript. Then log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying, because the application system gets stuck in a loop even after the required information has been updated.

If you still get rejected, submit the application using another device, such as a smartphone or another PC.

If none of the above works, I recommend you contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and explain your problem.
