Libre Sensor Serial No's And xDrip+

I am still quite buoyed up on the flurry of eventual success I was able to enjoy using Libre 2 Plus sensors with 3. serial no's. The one that I swapped out this morning ran seemingly without any issues. I have applied a new sensor this morning which my wife collected from the pharmacy for me yesterday. The curious thing is that both sensors she picked up have 3M serial no's and have an expiry date of Feb 2027. I was of the impression that 3M sensors were being phased out but am optimistic that this may not indeed be the case. To any of you out there still having issues, the 3M sensors do still seem to be available. I don’t yet know if and how my current fit will perform. I do hope that both series now work without issue.

Be interesting to see what happens. Patchinfo read by the NFC is what determines the outcome. I take it this as a 2plus ? UK ?

Sensor was changed on Saturday morning and has worked and continues to work with xDrip+ without a single adverse issue. My previous 3. sensor while not causing problems did drop connection on a couple of occasions. It must be said though that this was over the full course of its 15 day life and my current sensor is only 4-1/2 days old. I don't however really envisage any issues over the next 10-1/2 days of its life. I now wonder if my previous problems were related to a single sensor since both 3. and 3M series have now worked without causing me any real trouble. My set up remains unchanged with 25th September xDrip+ and 12th June version of OOP2.

I am now 9 days into my 3M sensor and apart from a signal drop out of around 30 minutes the night before last it has been incredibly stable. I am going to go with a 3, series sensor when I swap out in 6 days time to see what happens. My obvious problem is that I only change every 15 days so working out what works well and what works not so well is a rather protracted exercise.

15 days and I have now removed and replaced the sensor. It ran almost boringly without any significant signal drop outs. Frankly though I really don't mind a bit of boring every now and again. I was planning on replacing with a 3. sensor but have some intensive stuff on for the next fortnight. I have gone with another 3M hopefully for some more boring.

I have the same issue and have read several of your threads about it (good stuff!).
My Libre 2+, 301 sensors had huge connection issues and were more offline than connected.

So I swapped back to 3M. Works great again, but I have only two left after this one.

I have a Samsung S24 so I can't change the battery optimization for Bluetooth.

Would be great to hear an update from you how it went with the 301s.

I use xDrip with OOP2.
Do you think Libre 3 is unaffected by the change they made or will I get the same connection issues with Libre 3?

Hello, my own 3. sensor lived its life pretty much without much issue. I then went back on to a 3M sensor as I had about 5 of them in my stash. I also have about 6 3. series too. It seems that Abbott are aware of issues but are quite cagey to discuss in detail. This seems to also apply to their own app Librelink. The last 3M sensor that I had fitted died prematurely. When I contacted them they suggested that Samsung phones running 16 operating system have some 'compatibility issues' with their application. They have software developers working to solve this. Their words not mine. They also asked me if I could not run on version 15 which obviously I can not. When I suggested that I would use Dexcom they backpeddled like mad and offered to send me an Abbott reader which I now have but will not use. It does seem that the issues are with changes to their own Bluetooth protocols. As regards to your own Bluetooth battery optimisation I think that you actually can disable optimisation. You need to go into settings, then into apps, click on the 3 small lines at the right hand side of the 'your apps' title then click on show system apps then click on Bluetooth when it is open click on battery and then click on unrestricted. I also did this for Bluetooth Agent. As regards libre 3, I have never used one so really have no idea. On some of the diabetic fora there are scattered reports of connectivity issues with Libre 3 but Abbott have an awful lot of diabetic fanboy users who immediately leap to their defence and try to apportion blame to the individual user. Difficult to get an accurate picture just random stuff really. I will be sticking another 3. sensor on sometime in the next 6 weeks and will shout out with how things do or do not progress. If you need to see any of my settings or anything else in the meantime then please just shout.

Thank you very much for the in depth answer. I never found the battery optimization setting but I do run Android 14 right now, which might be why. Might go by a phone store and compare my settings.

I was in contact with the health care here in Sweden and they sent Libre 3, which I will try next week. I have two 3M left just in case it doesn't work. After that it will be back to 301, but hopefully we will both have a solution to this madness by then! 😁

The support at Abbott I talked to was very careful to not say if they knew about the error and if they knew that the app itself has been flagged in Google app market due to lost connection issues. She was really polite but couldn't really help, so thank God for people like you on this forum!

I think that the actual phone settings menu's for Samsung devices is pretty similar across most of the range. This is regardless of Android version. You should be able to find battery optimisation if you look for it. If however it isn't causing you issues then maybe you don't need to. If it ain't broke and all that. Regarding 301 sensors, I will be back on one I think after my current 3M expires. I have had a couple of 3M fail after 9 or 10 days. I am hopeful with my next 301 as my last one went so well. I will confess though I am really not confident at all. I still maintain that Abbott have been making unannounced changes to the sensors and this in essence is where everybody's problems lie. I would be really interested to hear how you get on with your Libre 3's. The NHS in the UK will not contemplate them except in extraordinary circumstances. I really hope that they work and work well for you.
