The maphide is an image/media source that's hidden but on top of the game. When your map hotkey is pressed it will show the map hide and hide it when released.

And that is it, take note that you will occasionally leak a frame or two of the map when you release. This is due to Rust fading out the map and is unavoidable using SLOBS at the moment.
