Hi Team,

Can you please add loading of Metadata from online sources including correct artist naming, album title, lyrics, album art, artist bio and profile pic...

I understand that it is a bit daunting but it would be awesome if you could add this ❤️

Short answer, most likely no.

Longer answer, metadata no, lyrics might be possible.

• For the way we handle metadata, we'll probably end up getting blocked by basically overloading their servers if we use an online API.
• For lyrics, they're under copyright so we can't distribute them directly.

That being said, we could maybe support "providers", where you specify things to get the lyrics. This also wouldn't overload their servers since only 1 would be loaded at a time (unless you spam the next/prev button) under certain conditions (on "Now Playing" screen, with lyrics displayed).

This hasn't been fully though out so this might or might not work.

Considering how awesome the app is, this is just asking for an added whipped cream on top of the cherry on the cake, so whatever is feasible for you I will happily accept. Please consider this as a minor request and focus on your bigger goals I am more than happy with it.

If possible though, can you please look into an app called media human lyrics finder for windows, they do an excellent job at one specific thing despite the UI being charmingly basic.

If there was a way to recreate that in android maybe it can help you as a jumping off point?

We'll support "Lyrics Providers" in v3.2.0 which would allow for displaying lyrics from online sources in a more non-infringing way.
